I am building a budget 65 resto-mod, meaning I am not using an aftermarket frame and late model suspension. My 65 frame was junk, so I bought a 80-82 frame and am modifying it. My question is, do I leave the aluminum rear in it or do I use the cast iron rear. I have been told by one person that the aluminum rears aren't very strong. Only part I need to put the cast iron rear back in is the rear crossmember that welds into the frame. Don't know gear ratios of either. I am using a 6.0 and 4l60e. Thanks, Scott
