metal exhaust tunnels for a 59.
Need some info on these parts. What are they? Where do they go? How are they installed? On my 59, I have what appears to be two fiberglass tunnels that run inside and through the lower left and lower right part of the trunk. The exhaust pipe runs through those glass tunnels and out through the rear bumpers. I saw where late 58 through 60 Vettes are supposed to have "metal" tunnels. Do these metal tunnels fit inside the fiberglass ones and then the tail pipe goes inside the metal tunnel? Any kind of explanation would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks. I did some research and there appeared to be some confusion as to what the 59's had. Some indicated glass and others said metal. CC catalog shows late 58 to 60 had metal tunnels. Mine (59) has a molded in body part type of glass tunnel.

I do remember there were two design tailpipes for the '59 when I ordered parts from the dealer ('63?); I finally know why.

My 59 is a March 26th build, just for future reference.
I'm always amazed that after owning this car since 1974, I learn something new every day.
Again, thanks guys.

A friend of mine is restoring his March built 59. He has the original fiberglass exhaust tunnels. As was stated earlier, there are 2 different exhaust pipes; one for the fiberglass tunnels and one for the metal tunnels.
