My apologies to the board users
I was in a real pissy mood last night after spending the evening with a know it all, knows wants best for everybody else relative who is unhappy with her life and mad at the world, who spreads the joy to everyone around.
I came here to forget about that and instead took my frustrations out on someone who, I perceived at the time, was just trying to make someone worry needlessly about their car.
In the future, i will just avoid situations that can set me off after dealing with nasty people until I have blown the frustration off.

Doug we all have external stresses that can influence how we interact with others, or internet forums. Sometimes we lash out instead of walking away, it happens. Last night you had a moment, it passes. Some forum members have "moments" every couple of hours, for years. Don't sweat yours.
Speaking for myself, I'm one of the younger folks whose desire to help sometimes exceeds my competency. It's well intentioned, but not always well executed.
Your responses on the other hand are based on a wealth of experience and you are "right on" in your assessments of other's problems.

Relative
Doug: You can't pick your relatives. What ever you do, don't hit her with your car! Think of all the front end damage you will have to fix We have all been there. Jerry

the old adage of test don't guess sometimes gets thrown away, which is what happened as soon as the intake was removed from the mill in that post.
this is a forum and some seem to have a glass jaw at times when folks are approached with an issue but after wrenching has been done to complicate a diagnosis, makes more problems to perform that very same thing.
i hope the op finds his issue and has the sense to avoid the "sky is falling" opinions that should be saved till results are known.
anyway..no need for the apology but a nice gesture on your part and thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge as it is an asset to the forum....

Hey Doug!
Kick the dog next time.
Seriously, it happens to all of us. But takes a Big Man to admit a mistake and say he's sorry.
Cheers,
JB

And every now and then the other guy deserves a good dressing down. Some folks on here spend their time not helping. But undermining or creating insecurity through their "wealth of knowledge" Not offering any real data or constructuive critique. I call them contrarians. Saying crap they would never have to guts (or lack of class) to challenge you on in person.
Some people just ask for it.

Be of good cheer Doug, we (or least most of us) have done the same thing. I am trying to mellow out a bit myself ..... a work in progress.
Your relation reminds me of small sign I saw in a friend's office. "Everyone brings joy to this office, some by coming in, others by leaving".

Sorry if my comment last night brought all this on Doug, it just didn't sound like you were in great mood, and I hope it wasn't caused by my previous post on that thread? .......women! sheesh!

And then there are others who genuinly try to contribute and help and are ridiculed and critized for it.

Doug-You are impressive. You did what I like to think that I should do often, but do not. To offer an apology when appropriate is so simply but so hard. You showed me how it can be done. Thank you.
