Launching the split window:
Dad was pretty proud of the '63. He was the second owner. Think he bought it in late '63. Note rubber on rear fender:
I liked it too:
Later in the decade---same car. And I'm hamming it up in the picture:
In '79 my father bought this '71 LT-1:
Me hamming again. Man I wasn't that bad looking. You should see me now---sheesh:
Had to throw this in:

Great pictures. i have searched on & off for a photo of a dealer circa 63 / 64, hopefully with some Corvettes in it.
Neat that you guys have photos from the original owners.

This is the one that got me hooked.........................my first Corvette (got it my senior year in high school, back in 196?, uh.......................a long time ago), a 2 owner all original 64 red on red coupe with 327 - 300 horse engine, 4 speed and AM-FM radio. Of course I had to "improve on what GM had done" by adding ET mag wheels and Goodyear white lettered tires. Later added factory side exh and finned Corvette valve covers. Wish I had this one back........................like I wish I had all my others back.

Question for the savvy on picture grabbing from VHS...
I have some old video of ME and my car doing a "concours/cone" race in a parking lot....
Can any of the camera shops pull just that off of the tape our do they need to do the hole video?

I have a bunch...
This is my Dad in Ashland Oregon in 1964 with his brand new 63 Stingray. He was originally from Boise Idaho. I believe he was working on some road construction project..or just passing through to Portland. He met my mom a few years later in Portland.

I predict this thread will go down as one of the greats for 2013 when we do the poll in 10 months.
It is a real testament to two of the greatest things about Corvette.
1) It is attainable, by all types / walks of life.
2) It is *nearly* practical as evidenced by winter usage, hunting usage, beach usage, and many other tasks that I've never seen a European exotic asked to do..

This picture was taken on July 4th, 1971. We started dating that spring and was our “first date” car as well. We recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and we are fortunate to have been able to own this car for all these years.
