'57 Body Fit Onto '59 Chassis?
Gentlemen,
I have listed the chassis remaining from my '59 restomod project for sale on eBay. An eBay bidder has asked the question..."Will a '57 body fit onto the '59 chassis?".
Does anyone know the answer to that question? What modifications, if any, are required to make it fit?
Thanx!

I saw your Ebay listing. Looks like a good chassis and drive train. As far as I know a 57 body will fit a 59 chassis. My 59 body is on a 57 chassis (with a 72 Nova subframe on the front).
I believe that to mount 58-60 rear bumpers on my 57 chassis will require two holes to be drilled in the frame on each side. I'm not sure how 56/57 rear bumpers mount.
I'm sure it's possible for the 57 body to mount on a 59 frame. Others with more knowledge can give you more details, I'm sure.
Good luck with your sale.

Yes, it will fit. The rear crossmember on the 59 has threaded holes for the rear bumperettes to bolt up to where the the 57 did not. The 59 had rear traction bars that the 57 did not have.

DZ, Workin, Gerald & Daddy....Thanx for the input! I forwarded your info to the potential buyer....Hope it will help him make a decision to place a bid to buy the chassis....And then....I can let my wife use the driveway again!
