Do you mean just general cleaning or something more along the lines of restoration cleaning? With all those fins they are a pain to wash the road grime off of. Aluminum Navel jelly is good to try for stains and oxidation.

Most people would use a spray wheel cleaner safer for all types of wheels.

Naval jelly is used to remove rust and will damage the finish on the wheels.

Not exactly, but I use on my wire knock=offs Ajax or Comet with a wheel brush and a paint brush ...the paint brush gets into and behind the spokes washed off immediately to make sure all the soap suds and film are gone leaving the chrome nice and bright.....

I use Bike Bright. It does a great job on my Harley and my knock offs, you can get it at any motorcycle shop.

There is Naval Jelly for steel and Aluminum Naval Jelly for aluminum. Aluminum Naval Jelly is not as commonly seen.
