Keep it solid. Everyone does the contrasting color in the coves when they re-paint. The reality is that more came solid from the factory than were painted a contrasting color. Mine is solid red and I like it alot. Everyone thinks it's a 62 or tell me it's supposed to be white isn't it??? They look great both ways but I would stick with solid.

I am surprised that you could do that good of a job just by using paint.

Just wondering...
Is it just me, but does it seem like all those people stuck with the less desirable 62 cars are pretty adamant about keeping them single color? Sort of a " if I can't paint my coves, nobody else can?"
Above comments from an obviously non-biased non 62 owner.

thanks for all the replys
special thanks to John P for his photoshop pictures, I will most likely have the cove painted and also change the front 2 side bumper insert part to black

Different strokes for different folks I guess...
98% of people have no clue that the hardtop should be body color or
that '61 was the last year for wide whitewalls and contrasting side coves.
Guess it depends on personal taste and who you are trying to appeal to.
Unlike some, I drive my car about 5,000 miles per year. The more contrast
the car has, the more visible it is and the safer I feel. A consideration often
overlooked.

Keeping the wheels as-is ? Solid red and maybe a black soft top .
If I were painting the coves white I'd have to change to stock wheels and paint the hard top white also.
I like the car just like it is now though
