What is the best way to disconnect the the black rubber connection going into the front fender pannel without causing any damage?
Should I try and pry it out or simply pull it out ?
I've never done this before and it seems like it's in there quite strongly thus I'm concerned about hurting the wiring harness connection at that end with the wrong technique.
Application 1966.
Thank you,
Rabvet

use a putty knife and run around the edges as best as you can to loosen and break seal of gunk that has built up....then just wiggle and pull out...

The rubber connector fits into the hole like a grommet would. Grab both sides of the connector and pull it apart. I think you should be able to reach under the fender and inside at the same time if I remember correctly. If the wall connector comes out of the hole it should fit right back in. Dave

The grommet has a circumferential groove that sits in the hole of the inner fender. With the headlight plug removed just use your thumbs and roll that front edge inward to release plug groove from fender and push back. Rubber could be all hard and maybe low heat fro hair dryer might help.
