'67 Project- almost speechless
The boys in Bedford used to intrigue me with their driver-status listings, but when I saw a few at Carlisle it reminded me why an up-close inspection is a must.
I saw this one on ebay and had to pass it along..."rusty frame" sure, but this thing is corroded all over inside. Birdcage bets anyone?
Now I wouldn't pass it along for a smile on the forum, but if you read the questions at the bottom concerning BIN price...

Perhaps the last two people were asking about the BIN because they couldn't believe the first answer.
Looks like the same old games are still going on from that dealer. I was SO lucky when I bought my 64 from them sight unseen. they thought they had a sucker on the line (they did) so they reeled me in for only 21K, all the wile believing they had passed off an engine with major internal problems (he told me it "needs a tune up"). turned out to be a broken rocker stud, and an easy fix for me, but I'll bet they thought it was way more than that. Once the stud was replaced, that became one of the best running carbed engines I've owned in years (and I made a point of thanking them for the great deal I got, just to rub it in, and let them know that I know what they tried to pull).

well, I don't feel as bad about the condition of mine now.
Man, there has been a LOT of moisture inside the car for a long period of time. When you have the instrument panel screws rusted just think how all the wiring connections look. The chrome side trim on the seats has more rust than chrome left
Current auction price of 13K looks about correct for the condition. Part out value is low because parts are horrible condition.

I can argue all day for some brave soul with a large wallet and love for the cars bringing one "back from the dead" but I think decay won the war. It probably helps the bidding that it looks, uh, "complete" but so much of the complete parts are trash...

no worse than some of the parts prices I have viewed;
62 jack 1500
BB bellhousing, repaired 250
TI ignition 3000+
65 instrument gages 1600
63-7 ash tray 125
Sure the parts may be in good condition but are they in touch with reality ? Maybe the big buck restoration shops buy and pass the "savings " on to the bill payers.
I thought it was a hobby.. not a get rich scheme.

Nothing that I can see. Above someone said wrong engine/tach combo but the block is HT which is 327/350HP which to my understanding should have a tach with redline starting at 6K, which this one does. So... lines up OK to me. Anyway, I posted the picture from the auction of the trim tag. It has HALF eaten away. Irreplaceable. Aluminum does not rust. So just what kind of corrosive picture is that? Acid? So all kinds of terrible things have happened to this car. Even the hood support is rusted!!!
