How do you adjust rear brakes and emergency in a 62
I tried the search with no luck. Question is, how do you adjust the rear brakes on a 62 to where they do not drag on the shoes and the emergency brake will lock both wheels. Seems like when I get this done, the emergency brake will only lock one tire. When I adjust the emergency brake cable to where both tires will stop, there is shoe drag in the other tire. And yes, I have the correct tool for inserting in the slot in the backing plate to rotate the star wheel.

I am not sure if you have a ST-12 servicing guide but in section 5 is a good explanation for the brake adjustment.
I hope that this helps.

You likely have an emergency brake cable sticking, corroded, dry, hanging up on the wheel that doesn't want to brake and/or release properly.

Just remember to loosen up the ebrakes first so there is some play, then tighten up the brakes per the ST12, then finally adjust the ebrake.
You might as well bleed the brakes while you are at it.
