I'm about 3-4 months behind you. Where did you get your Dana 44 from? What gears did you swap in? What trans. are you going with?

Hi, at some point in the last month you showed a picture of the rear flares you took off of your 63. Could I see that picture again, I think those match some we need for a 65 road race car. If they are for sale and available. Thanks Scott

I used a 2010 Viper diff its a super 44 or they called it a Dana 50 when i ordered gears for it. I put 373s in it and i bought a Kiesler 5 speed for it. Im getting my LS427 next week its on the dyno right now.

Where did you buy the rear from? I hear the Gen IV Viper 44's are real hard to swap out the gears. Got prices of $800-1200 to do the swap.

Smart man fitting everything, etc. before paint. That is how i will build my next restomod. There are too many opportunities to fudge up the paint otherwise.

Great project. When you've got the camera out next would you post a couple of pics showing those GTS flares please. A couple looking from the front of the car directly along the side would be great. Want to see how much they flare out. They look like the blend in to the body line very nicely.
Many thanks.

The project is looking really good and you are making great progress. I was just wondering what headers you are using? I like the ball & socket flange on them.

Ya ill get some pics of the fenders i had the same question but couldnt find any. As far as headers i tried some but they hang down too far so im going to try them on my 66 nova if they dont fit it then im going to have to cut them up and modify them or build a set. If ya want some let me know ive built hundreds of headers i could build u some when i build mine. Part that sucks is stainless is expensive i was hoping these would fit cause they were on 600 used.

If you don't mind me asking, what fitment issues did you run into when dropping the body? How are the rear kick ups? Will they require any custom spacers or can you just use the factory body mounts and shims? Does it look like the gas tank sits in the correct orientation height wise and will the bumper brackets in the rear align correctly or will custom ones need to be fabricated? Thanks

I had no problems other than no help so it took awhile by myself. It bolted right on. Its a pretty exact fit and it looks like the tank and bumpers will line up fine i havent tried them yet. it sat on the mounts with reg shims just like the old frame used.

Are the GTS flares 1,5" wider rear and 1" wider front?

They sure looks good

SRIII builds these chassis to fit all body mounts and fuel tank as original. The bumpers are all bolt-on with exception of lower front bumper braces which will require some fabrication to fit the new frame. Both of my SRIII frames fit like a glove, very nice product and Mike is great to work with
