The end has come
It's a sad day in Mudville.....
My '65 is now sold. New owner is coming tomorrow with a trailer to pick her up and take her away from me.
It's been quite a ride the last few years. I went from always wanting a Corvette but never having one, to getting this '65, than actually buying a second Vette for my wife to play around with (actually it was to fix up and flip to make money but wife decided she wanted to keep it after I was done fixxing it up LOL ). Eventually selling that second Vette, and now this one will be gone.
From none, to one, to two, to one, to none again.
Worst part was I sold the car to raise the funds to finance a second location for my business and expand. The deal on the second location fell through after the car got sold so now I don't have that OR the car.
Oh well, such is life.
It's a been a fun ride and while I had the car you guys were a big help while I was working on her and had a ton of questions. i'm very thankful for the help a lot of you gave me.
Maybe one day i'll be able to get another Vette. Who knows. I can only hope and see what happens.
i may pop in here from time to time to see what's happening and refresh some nice memories but for the most part I'll be gone. It wouldn't be same hanging out here without having my Baby anymore.
take care and I wish you all the best

Hate to hear that Barry. I always enjoyed your how-to threads and posts. Maybe after a cooling off period the flame will re-kindle and then the hunt will be on again.

Take care. We enjoyed having you here. You learned a lot, but also gave back even more to the C1/C2 Forum with you website and your forum participation
I wish you the best, and hope that you will return soon.

Barry...
Will you keep your website active for those that want refreshers?

I'm gonna be the naysayer here.
When I got rid of my beautiful '66 'loaded' Mustang convertible I was done with the classic car hobby. My weekends would be free, no more greasy hands and bruised knuckles, no more money going into old parts.
That lasted 7 months and then I was "on the prowl" and brought the '61 Corvette home!
We'll see how long you hold out Barry

Instead of wishing you good luck and good bye, I like what Frankie says and I hope you will be back with us soon. You have provided a great service and given many great answers to lots of good questions.
So for the time being, you will be missed, But I for one am hoping you are back with us soon.
Be safe,

Please be careful tell us Vette Veterans things like this. This is heart stopping news. Best of luck for the future. Did you put a contingency in the sale that the new owner has to join the forum? We will still have a seat and a cold one for you under the big tent at Carlisle. Dennis

Barry, you have been a real asset to this forum and I am sorry to see you sell the car, but stick around. I know you will want another Vette someday. Hope it all works out for you Barry.

All the best to you Barry! I am sure I speak for the quieter, silent majority of folks here who have enjoyed your posts/input AND your great, organized website. You are a car guy...it's in your blood and I believe, like others here have said, you'll be back!
Good luck in your future!

Jim

You will be missed, Barry. I can't tell you how many times I've referenced your website to help me with working on my car. Thanks for the time you have spent making working on our cars more enjoyable. Good luck to you. Dave

BarryK will always have a place in my heart as the man who broke the elusive Milano Maroon code. He's a friggin' American hero, what with his sharpened fender apexes and all ...

Here's a suggestion: Look for a nice C3, C4, or C5 to hold you over until you're able to get another midyear. You can find nice '96 LT4s (arguably the best of the C4s) in the $10,000 to $12,000 range. While they're not midyears, they offer great performance, safety, and efficiency with lots of modern convenience. There are also some great Corvettes for not much money in the C3 and C5 generations. Just a thought....
