I love the car, especially the color. In 1970 when I worked at our local gas station, the old mechanical pumps could not go over .99 a gallon. Gas was .29 a gallon and we gave out S&H Green stamps. We also gave away glasses. I had two complete sets of glasses from the NY Jets and the NY Giants. The gas station is long gone, and the Giants play in NJ. I lost track of where the Jets play. My son asked me what the metal spout I have in the garage was used for. I told him it was used to poke a hole in a metal oil can and allow you to pour oil in the crank case without spilling it. How many of you still have stuff like that collecting dust in your garage? Jerry

Recently, one of those fancy Hollywood film crews came to town making a movie. (Airheads acting like real people). They rented a local potatoe barn for a scene and painted this Champion sign on it for effect. Although the car is my 31 Chevy instead of the 67 Coupe it's a great shot for us "Car Guys"!

I think this too was created for a movie set.

Those were the days. I remember paying .19/gal in 1963. Also remember the Green Stamps and also Top Value Stamps along with the drinking glasses. Not to mention someone pumping your gas for you, washing your windshield, and checking your tires and oil.
Today, I feel lucky if the "pay at the pump" function works.

To an old fart like me the gas station looks fairly modern, but I guess it's all relative.
Fantastic looking Vette. I'm happy as can be with my C-4 but part of me REALLY wants to get back into a C-2 - bad! The more I see one that looks like yours, the worse the craving gets!

C2 still catches our eyes. I have always wanted one from the time i was very young so one day i just woke up and said, the hell with it, im doing it and i have not been any happier... they are not only great to look at but fun to drive as well...

Beautiful car and while not an old gas station on the old fart scale, still old school by today's big oil company standards. My mom collected Top Value stamps and redeemed them to get me my first baseball glove. I still remember the trip to the redemption store to pick it out. I just knew it would make me a big leaguer someday!

I had a '67 and later a '63 way back when, then had to do the house and kids thing and went 32 years Vette-less. Four years ago the wife urged me to stop saying "someday" I was getting back in a Vette and just do it, as you did. The C-4 deal came about really suddenly and I have never regretted it - we've been to 14 states already in it and aiming for more. But there is something timeless about the C-2 and some day things will hopefully fall right and I'll have another one to keep the '92 company. My '67 actually still exists somewhere in Indiana but I have not been able to track it down any more precisely than that. Seeing one as nice as yours just reinforces my determination.
