Default Wrong distributor cam !

I have a 300 hp distributor cam in an old distributor that I bought. In
order for the weights to go to full limit. I need a hipo distributor plate.
I have searched the net with no avail . Any out there ?

The guy rebuilding it said he could weld the hole smaller in the plate.

You can use this kit to set the mechanical advance stop where you want it, it has an oversize bushing for the avdance stop pin

Do you mean the "football" cam on the top of the mainshaft, or the points cam with the weight/spring plate on it?

Yes the points cam with the weight/spring plate on it. He said the hipo plate had a small hole. Mine has the large hole. He said with
the 350 hp needs the small hole so the advance weights could open all the way.

The "small" (short length) limit pin hole provides for LESS advance than the "large" (longer length) hole, which provides for MORE advance.

John, your the man ! Your knowledge makes me believe that he knows distributors !
He said he could weld the short length hole by 50%(less width), then lengthen it longer for more advance.

I have been searching for a hipo points cam with no avail. So I will have him modify the old points cam.

Thank you for the help
