"Use the search" or "Have you tried using the search function??" are not helpful responses to other members requests for assistance. This is especially true for new members. Everyone was new once, and while it can be tiring to respond to the same questions time and time again, it is just as simple to post a link to the sticky threads at the top of the page, as it is to post a smart reply. If you don't want to offer help, then it is probably best that you respond to another thread where your vast knowledge and expertise is put to better use.
