Default Small block gaskets. What do YOU use?

Any suggestions / recommendations for gaskets for a stock 350 with 11:1 compression? I've always used the Fel Pro Perma-torque gaskets with good luck. Anybody got anything better?

I use Fel Pro Perma-Torque gaskets and have never had a problem.

That's all I've ever used and never had a problem. Why do you want to change?

I don't want to change Jim, UNLESS there is something better now. That's why I am asking.

Thanks,
Rex

What could be better than an inexpensive product that works great? I'm sure you can buy more expensive stuff but I can't see where it will perform any better.

My heads were surfaced but not the block. I'd have some concerns about total sealing, especially on the block side of the gasket, but I DO like the idea of raising the compression a tenth or two.

The standard Fel-Pro permatorque is a very good and proven Head Gasket. 7733PT
It does have limits and HP limit is usually 400 HP or so and it does not resist detonation well. For that reason if I was building anything over 10 or 10.5 to one I would upgrade, first step up would be to a Fel-Pro 501HD, the HD use a Stainless fire ring rather than a mild steel fire ring, cost for this upgrade is minimal but the performance upgrade is very good.
Stainless resists detonation 3 times better than the standard mild steel wire ring around the cylinder. The next step up is to a true Perfomance gasket like the 1003. The 1003 is more money and good to 700+ Horsepower if tuned well.
The step above the 1003 is the MLS desgns, MLS Fel Pro like the 1142 is the cream of the crop, very expensive but no gasket can match what it can do. It just needs a smooth surface, 60 RA or smoother. It has been run in 2200 HP twin turbo race engines and holds up. It will seal when the engine hits extreme pressures. But I think these are up to $75 per side now, maybe a little more.
