Default spare tire tub bolts

I want to use a 7" rally wheel with a 215-70x15 tire in the tub but the stock bolts are not long enough to let the tub lid close, I see CC offer a 10-1/4 front bolt, and a longer locking bolt, what size bolts should I use? The wheels were on the car before I changed over to the 7" TT2's and they are the same OD so it would make a good spare, don't really want to use a space saver ....Thanks ...

You can use the longest bolts available, however, I don't think you'll be able to close the tub to your satisfaction.

Good friend had the same issue.
I had him send me his tub bolts and tell me how much longer they needed to be. Cut the bolt in half, welded in the extension, ground to look pretty, tempered, painted black and sent them back to him. He lives in Conn. and I'm in Sillinois. IIRC I charged him the postage.

To do the job really right, the locking bolt at the rear should also be lengthened so the tub/tire has the same space front and rear.

thanks that's what I was looking for, how much did you add to the bolts?

Be easier if you measured what you'd need as he may have had an even wider rim/tire combo.

If you'd like me to do the extending, I'd have to charge you return postage and a large cup of black coffee.
