Mother's polish works well as does many others. The main ingredient in a good shine is "elbow grease".

between the fins. Much easier to clean. Keep in mind that the finned wheel design is 50 years old - and ease of cleaning was probably an afterthought.

The beginning of the sentence is in the title he added to the top of his message (above the quoted text).

Use aluminum wheel cleaner for uncoated wheels in the aeresol can. Do this before you use the polish as the cleaner will probably dull the polished surface a little.
