You deserve the utmost credit for your project. Very commendable. Nice to see you chose the correct 66BB hood for it. They look so much better.

Judging from the red line on the tach, your '66 is a 427/425 and yet your oil gauge doesn't go to 80? Big block or not. That is the question.

I thought I had a basket case! This could have been carried home in your pants pocket. It looks like you are doing a great job! I know who to ask when I am stumped on something. Thanks for showing the pictures and best of luck to you!

Your worst than me. Mine came home in three pick up truck loads, and what we could strap on to the barely rolling chassis, came home on my friends car carrier. I never wanted to buy a car. I wanted to build one. Incredible work. Look forward to seeing the rest of the project.

I agree, always liked the 65/66 BB hood slightly more than the 67!

The gauge cluster I picked up at the Bloomington show this year. I'm sure it is a Frankenstein just like the rest of the car. I do plan on building a 427 for it, my wife tried to talk me into an automatic so she could drive it, but I over ruled her and I'm going to go with the 4-speed.

I have a buddy that is building a 64 resto-mod, he is trying to talk me into a tube chassis and a LS engine! But I think I'll stick to the old school stuff! I'm going to just build it the way I like, It is not like I'm going to Top Flight or get a Bloomington Gold with this car. I just gonna have a lot of fun with it! Scott

Very interested to see the chassis build too. Where are you located?

I'm in St. Louis, I got a lot of scraps and molds when Frumar Fiberglass closed his shop. I did do some work to the chassis a few years ago. It is an early 70's frame that I changed the body mounts on and change the rear part for mid-year bumpers. I'll post those pictures soon. The chassis still needs some work. But for now I'm concentrating on the body.

Scott,

Small world....Frank Frumar did some minor glass work on my '64 back in '70's. I lived off Musick Road and Hwy. 21 for many years just down the road from Frank's shop.....St. Louis was the mecca for Corvettes!

Default More progress

Here are some more photos. I have been fitting the front and rear clips, the door gaps are looking nice. Just some some minor trimming once glued. I also put a few pictures of the frame. It is a Frankenstein too and has been converted for my mid-year.

I agree, WOW. Great work and it is coming along very well. Can you share the story on this car? Such a clean birdcage but needing a whole new body, this must have been one heck of a wreck. The 66 big block hood looks to have more rise than factory is that to clear a larger intake? Thanks for sharing.
