Good find on Craigslist-Side pipe covers
I just happened to check on craigslist ast night and 5 miles away from my house is a really nice set of side pipe covers. I immediately drove there & scooped them up. The guy said he took them off his car in 68, and they have been hanging in his garage since. I thanked him for keeping them so well preserved for me for all those years. I am curious as the what sort of price I should have paid for them??

It always mystifies me as to why guys ask for price advice on cars, parts, services etc. but don’t want to divulge the price they paid. No offense meant but can you enlighten me as to why this is?
Best way to see if you got a deal is to price others out there for sale and compare.

That depends on what it was you actually paid for them, I think you got them fairly cheap.

I bought a new set of side pipes complete, pipes, covers and mounting hardware, about a year ago for $1,400.

Hahaha, dearly mystified, I was just curious, but to answer your question, i got them for $200, sorry about not divulging that info in the original post. I figured that was a good price, cuz i have been looking at the Allens set up, which the factory style covers add $1200 to the price of the pipes, but I never see these for sale, which is why I asked.

Good find. I don’t see anything wrong with boasting a little about a good deal that you get. Some people get jealous. I’m surprise you didn’t get the responses that you should have given him more money than he was asking. That’s what I was told when I got a good deal on my split window coupe. I gave the asking price, but others thought it was too cheap and said I should’ve offered more. LOL
