Here is the '61 right after I signed the papers on it in Aug 2007. It is sitting in front of several of the outbuildings on the Columbia, S.C. cattle ranch where I bought it. The seller and I had just completed the test drive after pulling it out of the barn where it was stored for several years.
Unlike most 'barn finds' the car was in fair shape but VERY rarely driven -- about 500 miles in 4 years.
It had a flat tire and mouse nest inside but after some quick TLC drove out pretty nicely.
Not the 'first day home' but my 'first day of ownership' !

The day I brought the 56 home, Oct 73, 327 with flat cam and 2bl carb, worn out front suspension.
Several days later---------------with Ralleys, and a brand new 30-30.
Several months later, with rebuilt 327 and 2x4 carbs (which came off of my 51 Chevy).
Today, with a SB400 and FI.

Not long after I picked up the '62, in 1993. Got both sets of wheels/tyres with the car.
And not too long after that...
