Default smokin deal!

I wonder where the fire started? A good reason to take some extra percautions in the wiring...

I guess it could have been a fuel line.

I am not trying to make fun of it. It really does scare me to have a fire and watcing the car go up in flames.

Every time, I drive my car I disconnect the battery.

Also, it makes me wonder how each of the years are there left after the production numbers?

Looks like the hottest part of the fire was in the back. I'd guess it was fuel related not electrical.

A good reason to carry a fire extinguisher in your vehicle.

In the right rear corner, and if it was fuel related, what kind of ignition source? It seems like if it was running, it would of ran out of fuel first.

Pictures like that are just and .

Guys:

I've been through this once, it was Feb 3, 1985...........................I'm not over it yet.

I feel for the owner, and the '62.

Notice the "garden hose" fuel line from pump to the carb. My bet the fuel line from the tank to the pump was NOT metal as original, and more of the same.

This type of lack of detail to fuel safety makes these cars just a fire waiting to happen. It all happens so fast. 5 minutes and the entire car is DESTROYED. I don't see many spare parts to use.
