I've always loved the classic Cobra, but it's uncomfortable as he11 for a big person to live with. These things are longer and 5 inches wider and use a normal C2-3 frame and running gear. Sounds like the perfect toy. Check it out......

There are other manufacturers that build a stretch Cobra for probably a lot less money. The way to buy these car is through the secondary market. You can pick up good examples with low miles for about 60% of the original cost. The stretch version, while accommodating the larger person, don't do the original lines justice, imho.

About 20 years ago I saw a Cobraish bodied car on a Corvette chassis regularly at the weekly car gathering near Phoenix, AZ. Even then, long before I owned a Cobra replica, the body lines of the Corvette based car looked wrong to my eyes. All of the longer Cobra replicas and some of the properly sized ones look a little off from some angles. But the Corvette chassied car looked way off to me.

You can get a stellar deal buying someone else's build. Think of it as an entire business where people regularly pour twice as much money into their cars then they will ever get out. The guys that build them have a real passion for the cars they are putting together and typically go over board. I bought a car for $36k that had over $70k of receipts and it was perfect when I bought it.
They are seriously fun and buying a used one could seriously be the best fun for the money out there.
Good luck....

Even with a stock 90 inch wheel base Cobra replica there are a number of ways manufacturers and owners have found to fit a moderately tall person in the cars - dropped floor pans, eliminate the seat tracks, reduced seat padding, slightly extended foot boxes, shim front of seat up, etc.
My ERA has more leg room (length anyway) than my Corvette. I do sit lower and with my legs straighter out than the Vette. At 6'2" I sit low in mine on top of an original-style English bladder seat foundation that has thinner foam and no adjustable tracks. I look through the windshield and not at the top of the frame. I know of at least one 6'4" inch owner who fits in his ERA just fine with some of the same changes I have, but also with a quick release steering wheel.
However, someone who is heavily built (as in broad of beam) or over about 6'5" would have the door top crowding in on them and a lot of trouble getting past the steering wheel. That's where the Big Boy Cobra knockoffs have their place.
I sure hate to see the classic styling changed up however.

My late father had both a 289 Cobra and a Mk 1 GT40. The styling of both were undeniable. The Cobra made my current 57 Corvette seem plush in comparison. Still, we had some pretty epic street races between the Cobra and his 68 L88😄
Now the GT40- that was a whole different world😳. All these make my base 350 auto 72 C3 seem lame😔
