This has to be the ugliest SWC I have seen

When the first C3’s came out, they looked fantastic. Everyone was talking about them. C2’s immediately looked dated and no one wanted a C1. Chevy milked that design until the dance was over and the band packed up and went home, yet Chevy still hung around to hum the tone for years to come. It looks like this C2 got caught up in the initial excitement.
I’ve wondered if the excitement is starting to return for the C3’s, it’s not like you see them everyday anymore and fresh eyes are sure to enjoy the design.

Somebody worked really hard to make that thing. That was a show winner in its day.

Normally, I'm cool with customs, as they were very common and quite popular when I got my first Corvette, and they were in all the magazines, but I wouldn't be inclined to have this one.
The bodywork is still in very nice shape, but the engine compartment is a mess and the interior needs help.
I'm really surprised to see the bids up to $15,000 but since it hasn't hit reserve, they could be friends or his own bids.
It would take a lot of work to make this one stock again. And I mean stock, not original. Heck, I bet it would take $50,000 to return to stock. And you can buy too many for that price ready to go.

I like modified cars but that's a little over done for my taste. That said if I saw it at a show I would be checking it out before the stockers. The vin and trim plates don't look right. I'm not sure how many cars it took to make that one.

I'm kinda digging that car really. Look at it with an open mind like you knew nothing about cars or Vettes! Give it to Pauly or Mike for a week with one piece front and rear clips, and they'd have back to stock!

All that excessive effort on the outside--------------------and under the hood it looks like do-do!

It took some time, or else a lot of money or being a feature car in Hot Rod, to get a car with both.

In Vietnam, I flew with a Pilot who now lives in Bedford. Xmas day of 71, we lost our bird and darn near crashed and burned, then had a clip shot at us from an AK.He is a Dentist there. If he bought this car,I think I would pull HIS teeth.

Unfortunately that's an easy one to pick apart. The car has ALL of the "over the top" mods you could do to a C2. The exagerated extended nose, tail light panel, and 2 tone paint just to start. On top of that under the under hood is a mess and then there is the interior that needs lots of help. At 17.5K+ and counting it all translates into a long time commitment and a very BIG money pit.

Just put some winter treads on the back and I bet that thing could plow some serious snow!
I agree, back 35-40 years ago that was a common approach and considered cool. What were we thinking? (Or maybe it was the bananas we were smoking! )
