Default Speaker Grill Screen

I was wondering if there is a way to take this off from the top or is it secured from the bottom? Dont really understand how it is mounted and I need to get it off but can't really see anything from either side that helps.

Thanks - Brian

the metal screen is held in by nuts on all 4 corners. They also hold the speaker in place. You can access them after removing the glove box liner.

I have found that it helps if you remove the clock. You will be able to look through the clock hole and see better.

And have bandaids handy, to stop the bleeding. Everything up there seems to be sharp.

I replaced mine about a year ago. Based on what I read hear on the forum, I was expecting it to be a bear - wasn't bad at all (no AC).
Remove glove box (10-15 minutes), remove clock (2-3 min), 3 of the 4 nuts on the grille are easy to reach and remove, the 4th nut (driver side closer to windshield) takes a little more fitness. 1/4" drive ratchet, magnetic (magnet inserts) socket and 12" extension, and you on your back will do it.
Plan on doing a lot of dusting/cleaning after you remove the glove box...you'll see what I mean.
Good luck!

I can send you a photo of the underside, I have the dash out right now with the speaker and defroster vent bolted up. That will show you the bolt pattern.
64 w/AC
