New Seats for a C1
Guys,
Has anyone done a seat swap in their C1? I am working on a 62. The customer has complained that the seats are uncomfortable, especially on a long drive. He would like to bag and tag his original seats and install something more comfortable. Any suggestions, pics are welcome.

Al Knoch made these for my 1957. They are made leather and very comfortable as well as made to look stock.

C4 seats are very comfortable and offer lots of side support. If you rework the C4 mounts you can use the original body mounting holes.
Here is a picture of one with headrest going into my '59.
Without headrests in my wife's '62

Wow - that last pic is a sweet car. Right down to the custom shifter console...and I'm not even a big restomod fan..

Nicest custom interior I've seen, and I love the color!
I hate tall seats in roadsters.

Did you gain/lose any head/leg room with the C4 seats? Looks very nice!

The transmission is a T-56 from a '94 Camaro.
Probably gained a little head and leg room, perhaps 1" each way. I didn't really measure before and after since I'm only 5'-9" and I had plenty of room with the stock seats.
Another nice feature of the C4 seats that I retained is the seat back tilt. My wife likes driving with the hardtop on, especially on long trips, so we leave it on all the time. We removed the soft top completely so now we can tilt the seat backs forward and access the area under the soft top cover for extra storage.

Very nice, plus extra room. Wonder if it would help the tall/"stocky" drivers.
I'd forgotten about the extra room in the top well. When the 60 was my only driver, I used to carry my long guns back there on permanent moves.
