Thanks for the nice comments...
I like working on the small details... It doesn't bother me that the exhaust pipes took some time, including adding "doughnuts" in the rear cross-member for great routing/clearance and custom making a hanger.
Little things like coil mounting brackets mocked-up that mount directly below the frame motor mount extensions where they all but disappear looking from the top of the engine, were fun to come up with too... (shown in wood mock-up below)
However, I'm itching for the next phase where I can say I'm DONE with the chassis and ready to be putting things together for the last time or at least working on mocking things up that doesn't require taking the body on and off numerious times... I've done some things with the body mounted like the air intake tube, posted elsewhere, but it will be nice when I'm doing things and not taking them back off again until later....
I loved the few times I had the body on the frame for a few days and it was looking like a complete car! It's been a struggle of how much to mock-up verses when the few things that are left I can accomplish without a mock-up stage, but things like the exhaust make me glad I've been mocking all the major stuff up...
Next time the body is on the frame it will be finish painted and things should come together pretty fast after that!!!
Thanks,
Rich

Love that GTO, looks just like my brothers, his has been gone since 1976, a beer truck cut a corner and the bumper caught my brother's GTO on his bumper. It actualy rolled his GTO up on its side before the guy stopped. He sold it as is took the check and upgraded to a Firebird, should have fixed that GTO. The Vette is looking great.

Sometimes hard to believe, but I've had the GTO for 20 years now...
After that long, everything simply feels "comfortable" in the GTO. The shifter **** is one of many things that I always notice as "odd" when I'm in a different car.
My GTO had the optional walnut **** that has a unique shape to it, so last week I got the idea that instead of buying a shifter handle/**** for the Corvette, I'd make one that blends the Corvette and GTO.. I made the handle from a high strength alloy and kept it large in diameter to have the look of the original Corvette handles. The **** is pretty much an exact copy of the GTO's walnut ****, but made in 6061 aluminum, brushed on the top face, with the rest polished...
My plan for the interior is doing it pretty stock with the exception of the seats (although I will have them covered in a pattern to have the original look), I think the shifter handle will be hard to catch as different, until you look close...
I might add a script to the top at some point, not sure yet...
Not the best picture, too much reflection..
Thanks,
Rich

I'm forcing myself to finish this one. It has been apart for 6 years while I bought another Model A and a 63 verte to amuse myself. Then I retired. Just finished painting. Wow, gallon after gallon of primer! Still have clear to shoot on the front fenders, re-assembly, and starting up:
After that, installing a 5 speed on my freshly repainted 63 while at the same time swapping out my rusty 63 frame for a show quality 65 frame. Then restore the 63 frame and re-install.

I'm not sure how this is happening, but suddenly and inexplicably my '64 has 2 fewer body mount bolts in it today versus what it had in it a week ago. I don't know exactly where this project is going (well, kinda), or how much it's gonna cost or even when it will end.
Typically I always say you know you've got a project when the hood's been removed. However, the hood has been off for several years now so now I will officially delcare this a project when the body is off.
Wish me luck.

Yellow car has a 57-64 pontiac/olds rearend in it, we have 2 gear sets for it, normally run a 3.23, also have a 4.88.
Primer Vert is stock rear with 3.70, running a 6.0 Iron block with a 4L60.
A properly set up IRS should be good for 500 plus I would think, Drag vette has some interesting things that can help a IRS live.

Fix the front bearing cover leak on the M22.
Install scatter shield.
Put the 4.11 back in 'cause it's way more fun!
Electric brake assist.
That should last until March or so.

The Roach is turning into a gem this winter, finished the frame repairs and powdercoating last March. Worked on boats all summer and fall. Now the body is on a rotisserie and the glass repairs have begun, waiting on a Corvette Image front clip (mid Jan.). I have been looking at Van Steel front and rear coilover kit for 11.5 months with the willwood upgrades sitting on the shelf (should start assembly next week) The six speed Richmond will be here in the next few days (going behind a 383). So just sitting around watching the snow fall.

Besides gassing up the Corvettes and collector cars for the winter, I'm trying to get to 1,500 miles for the break-in on my new Caddy CTS-V wagon. I don't think I'll make it, only 400 miles so far, so it will probably be springtime before I get to put my foot in it.

I had to choose between a new dually or the CTS-V. I went for the new truck. Same money but not as cool.

The wife really likes the CTS also, It just wont pull the trailers like the Trailblazer SS will. But they are sharp looking vehicles.

I plan on finishing up the install of my GM T5 in my '66 L79. May even have the engine/transmission all bolted in later today if I get the Christmas decorations done in time!
