C1 build by West Coast Customs to air 10/4 on HD Theater channel
Looks like West Coast Custom's built a C1 for musician Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. Episode will air Tuesday evening on Discovery's HD Theater channel. From the pictures, looks like a C1 body with a C6 drivertrain/interior and custom tube-frame. WCC kept the styling close to original and didn't butcher the car up like a lot of their builds taking away from the factory styling.

I dunno - some of the stuff they do is pretty lame and appeals to the 'pimped out' crowd. Other projects are novel and pretty breathtaking. The TRON car spin off they did from the movie theme was fantastic looking but their blinged out Escalades and other such things don't do a thing for me. I'll tune in and see how they handle a classic C1.

Will be interesting to see the response to it's late model dash treatment by members here. C2s haven't faired to well when done that way.
The wheel are interesting. They wouldn't last long around here with 1.0" of tire sidewall.
Maybe it will be at the SEMA show and I can see it in person.

It looks like the whitewalls overlap the wheels, or am I seeing it wrong.
I looked at the rest of the pics in the link and see what they did.

I've watched a few episodes on Netflix and I would NEVER want anything to do with a hack job, last second, throw crap together and make it stick build like they do! I can't believe they are even a legit business!

JMO, but those tires and wheels would make me not want to watch it. WTF are they thinking, you're taking one of the most beautifully designed cars ever and "mortifying" into this mess. I think I'd rather watch wrestling.

What about the seats? It is not a cobra. Just wrong...
This is what I think about the seats:

I usually hate their stuff.
Actually, it could have been a lot worse.

I had to quit watching when one of the West Coast morons jerked the original seat back out of the car and tossed it over the trunk onto the floor....like it was garbage...

Their factory is right down the road from me. Not as bad as I thought it would be.
BUT it's still awful.

I did the same. I went a little further into the show. When he ripped out the dash out, it was time to leave.

Told the wife to change the channel; I was pretty grossed out....that '58 originally looked like a perfect candidate to be "brought back" to show quality and the owner was going to restore it for his wife...now its a tribute to poor taste. Two hours worth of research could have found a project car for them to butcher up instead of a decent road-worthy, fairly original '58.

They should have bought a replica body from Down Industries so they didnt chop up a restorable car. I think that would have been viewed in a different light. I have yet to see a soft top restomod with high back buckets that looks good with the top off/down. I think the only way a soft top resto would look good is low back buckets with removable head rests. Top up head rests on and top off, head rests in the trunk.
