BB Intake manifold Height
Hi,
I'm putting a big block in a 67 with the stock BB Stinger Hood. I want an aluminum dual plane intake mnanifold and am using oval port heads. All the aftermarket manifolds I seem to find state that they won't fit a Vette with the stock hood. Can anybody recommend an aftermarket dual plane manifold that they use and know will fit under the stock BB Hood?
Anyone off hand know a measurement for max manifold height? I'll be using a Holley Square bore carb.
Thanks in Advance.

BB manifold
I've got the same problem. A non corvette BB in my 67 with the stinger hood. I've put a 2 inch air filter on it and it fits, but I'd like to know the correct size also so I can use the 2 1/2 inch filter.

Quite a bit of stuff will fit under a '67 big block hood. The OEM 427/425 intake from '66 easily fits and a Holley Strip Dominator single plane is almost identical in height. The trick is the angled carb pad like stock intakes. The ones that are straight like a Vic Jr or Super Victor make it a little tricky to get air filter in place. They can be angle milled but that's a lot of work. I'm sure the RPM Air Gap and RPM intakes will fit fine as well as the Performers..but you will need to use a drop base airfilter.
I was able to get a Super Victor and a Dominator under my stock hood..but it took some trickery. I now have a Holley EFI setup on a very tall Holley intake that fits too...but it's VERY tight.

Here's what I am running on my 66 now. I have had it on my car for about 25 years. It is a clone to the 66 425HP manifold but has oval ports rather than square. It should do the job. It is a dual plane unit.
