September 11 Just Around the Corner
Hey Guys,
Just a reminder about 9/11. Time to reflect and think about what's important in our lives. As a veteran, I for one appreciate what we have in this country. Sometimes hard to see with all the political bull.
Anyhow, Happy Patriots Day on Sunday and thanks to all those that serve.

As well I know....I was on the Wash DC metro passing under the Pentagon when the plane struck ten years ago...very surreal... Prayers for those who fell and for those they left behind...

I watched live as the 2nd plane hit on CNN or NBC, can't remember which. I was listening to the radio before then after the 1st plane hit and I thought it was a morning radio skit.

I was stuck in traffic on the 405S when the first plane hit, and listening to the radio at work when the second hit. I was angry and powerless to do anything at the time.

Remember the day, time, and moment like it was yesterday. I was on a plane about 30 minutes, had left Denver International Airport heading to Chicago, when we did a hard bank and returned to DIA.
God Bless Firefighters, EMT's, Police, Military and Civilian personnel, the Men and Women who took the 3rd plane back from the terrorists, and everyone else who helped that morning. You're all HEROES in my eyes.
God Bless America and all of the fallen angels on 9/11/01.
And to all those that have served in the past, present, and the future who have done so preserve our Freedom. I never take it for granted. Thank You

I worked with Dept of Justice's Office for Victims of Violent Crimes that day in a special "warroom" that tallied the carnage in human lives in real-time as events unfolded with continuous communications with the FBI, FAA and several other "3-letter" agencies...this included the aircraft passenger manifests. I can guarantee you there was an airplane with real passengers and they really died.

It was not a day to forget. I was in the E ring of the Pentagon, about 800 feet from the point of impact. The sound and feel of the aircraft exploding at that distance was a wake up as to how fragile life can be.
As they tore down and removed the rubble, it was taken to a secure area in north parking where they shifted through it looking for remains and personal items. I can tell you that there was clear evidence of an aircraft.

I have alot of respect for the folks on the plane that crashed in Penn. They caught on to what was happening and fought..they had heart and are true heros. The firemen and cops..bless their hearts, they fought in their own way, heros as well. In my opinion, the word hero is used way to much. The word hero, does indeed, discribe these folks..anyone that knowingly places him/herself in mortal danger, and disreguards the danger for the benifit of another, without expectation of personal reward, darn sure fits that discription. A slow, respectful hand salute to those lost in the effort to help others. That hand salute include the innocents , the dads, moms, brothers, sisters, children, whom simply wanted to support their familys.
