Hello Irene, goodnight Carlisle...........
Miss Irene has forced me to cancel my long anticipated and first trip to Carlisle. Four of us were going to go (2 '56s, 1 '57, 1 '69) from western Mass. but now it looks like we won't. Otherwise would either be staying a few extra days (too much $$$) or driving east through downpours and high wind. Like most C1s, mine is a sponge and even though the wipers work well (because they are aftermarket) it won't matter because the car will be full of water and I would need a periscope.
Maybe next year........

If the thread of pounding rain is a deal-killer, you will never, ever attend Carlisle.

Wise decision. I plowed my way home in the '61 through some Florida monsoons last Saturday and it was not pleasant. First time ever that I had to pull off the road twice and let the rains abate. Had fans drying out the carpet all that night. My original wipers worked but I needed some on the inside too.

I've never been so I'll probably get the riot act for this comment but here goes.
Isn't this place "Carlisle" a little overblown?

Com'n jack! You get to see the most corvettes in one spot! I say at least one time in the next years we caravan to Carlisle. I know we can pick up a few stragglers along the way.

dgsmith,
You can always leave the corvette at home if you are that worried. I have taken the family car several times. It takes some of the fun out of the drive but there are so many vettes and things to do that you will still have a great time. BTW I am still driving my 65.

I'm going. There are a couple of car events I wait all year for and this is one of them. I am only 1 1/2 hrs away though. Friday should be good. Saturday may rain but unless it's serious rain I'll still go that day too.

Rain or shine it the place to be for meet and greet. RainX is applied, duct tape and towels are in the car. It's all you need. Been doing it every year since '76. Dennis
