wondering if any info on Rte 81 south is available..I know there is always some kind of road work going on but is there any major construction projects that we should know about on our way from Boston to Carlisle...thanks for any info you might have.

Pete, if you Google "I-81 construction," you'll get a number of links to info about projects happening along your route. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton always seems to be a frustrating bottleneck crawl, in my experience. Good luck!

Just a side note, the state flower of Pennsylvania is the road construction barrel. It can be recognized by it's orange color with silver reflective stripes. Does not grow in size, but reproduces in the large quantities during the spring. Flourishes on broken concrete and asphalt.

FWIW, earlier this year I-81 just north of Harrisburg near the Marysville/Enola exits had a lot of construction going on that involved closing/rerouting the ramps to US-15

thanks for the updates, I know they always have some sort of construction going on...usually get stuck going up a large mountain in stop and go traffic..the clutch hates me.
