Well, not completely..........
Parking lamps are separate filaments with a lower light output - 3 MSCD and draw .59 amp, than the Turn Signal lamp filaments with an output of 32 MSCD and draw ~2 amp. Headlight switch only turns on/off the Parking Lamp filaments.
Light output and current draw numbers are using either 1034 or 1157 bulbs (slight difference in the current, but the output is the same). However, the life of the Turn Signal filament is far better with the 1157 (200 hours for the 1034 vs. 1200 hours for the 1157).
2357 bulbs are brighter (on "Turn Signal"), but draw more current and run hotter. 40 MSCD and 2.23 amp. The Sylvania 2357 LL (for Long Life) has better life as well (2000 hours).
Do not use the 2357 bulbs in the rear tail / turn signals. Over a period of a few years use, they will start deforming (melting) the plastic lenses.

I prefer the amber bulbs, people are more familiar with that color for turn signals. So sue me.....

Using the Front turn signal lamps as Daytime Running Lights helps that visibility, but both wmf62 (Bill) and myself saw the amber coating transfer itself to the insides of the glass (we both have the DRLs). It was a minor issue, and just requires cleaning off the glass once every couple of years or so (depending on use), and by then new bulbs are probably needed as well.
The LEDs have eliminated that maintenance completely.
Here are the LEDs I used:

I went to amber 4 watt LEDS in front also about 3 years ago, as people are used to seeing amber turn signals, not white ones.
They put out a lot of light.

it's happened at least once, possibly from the fact that the bulbs were on all the time as running lights. here are the pictures
the amber coating on the bulb deposited on the clear glass lense, i wiped it out with lacquer thinner (the residue is on the paper towel).
