Wow! My first 53, #245 was owned by Joe Chess for more than 30yrs. I was wondering if it could have been him. So sorry to hear of your loss. I spoke to Joe several times after I purchased the car. I recently sold the car but remember Joe well.

I had the pleasure of meeting your grandfather on several occasions, at NCRS functions. I think I also ran into him a time or two at Bloomington Gold.
I also bought a bunch of old literature and magazines from Joe when he was cleaning things out and "thinning" his collection of "stuff".
Small world.

I remember seeing that car in the garage.
