Default stock or teak??

i'm looking for some opinions as to weather a stock 66 plastic steering wheel (mint) is worth more than a reproduction teak wheel. i've sold my 66 427/425 to (sorry to say) australia. i negotiated keeping the teak wheel but friends are telling me that the mint original is worth more. i can keep either one. what do you guys think??? :fla g::

Probably depends on who made the repro but for me it would be teak either way.

Your friends are telling you that the original plastic wheel is worth more so they can buy your teak wheel on the cheap. IMHO the teak wheel is both worth more and is more marketable than the original plastic wheel.

Be generous and give both steering wheels with the car.

What's original to the car, stays with the car. Otherwise, you know which looks and feels better and probably worth more.

You know that there is nothing like the feel of a little wood.

Keep the Teak.

at swap meets you can pick up a nice plastic wheel all day for less then 400 bucks. you wont touch a teak for less then 600 bucks. do the math

I am in the minority but if the stock wheel is mint with full grain and no cracks then its worth more than a repop teak wheel at least to me. If the grain is worn and has small chips/cracks then I agree that the teak is worth more.

That would be a very nice gesture and considering the buyer is in Australia, he's going to need a steering wheel on the right side.
