Bob Kunz is THE man when it comes to anything Carter. Did my AFB and it came back perfect. Highly recommend him.

The AFB is supposed to have 2 plates under the carb, an insulator, and an aluminum plate as well
Well we ordered the two plates today, I'll let you know how it go's after
we get it all back to gather. Thanks

Very unhappy with my "Over Priced" Carter WCFB from them, after a year of messing with it I ended up taking it apart myself, only to find a crack in one of the floats.

Both Crane and CC are know to be actively restamping carbs, or taking new unmarked parts and applying your numbers. In that case its not a re-stamp

They can be easily detected due to some casting changes and or crooked lettering.

CC is just too hit or miss to deal with. I have my own sad story of dealing with them. Any good carb shop should be able to make your worn carb perfect. Also, 78K is not an ancient age for a carb, it just needs a decent refurbishing.

I bought a fully restored 2818 Holley from CC for 450 dollars(service date coded)......it was a very nice piece, and it's still running fine on my car 2 years later.....my only complaint, one of the metering blocks is not correct for a 2818.

Absolutely stay away from them. A couple years ago I purchased a horn relay from them off of ebay and paid by money order. I called them to check on the part and they said they never recvd the money order -- so I sent another money order. After I recvd the part, I checked with the post office and they had in fact cashed both of the money orders. Never Ever will I deal with them.

Just saw this old thread about CC. I'm looking for a rear diff and they have a great selection at very good prices but our local Corvette expert and mechanic also said proceed with caution.
I must say that a year or two ago I bought a pair of rebuilt windshield wipers that were great. I sent back my cores at a price that paid a large part of my purchase. I did have to pester Al for the refund but eventually got it.
I want to avoid them (for the above reasons), but damn! their price and selection is so good. On Ebay their feedback is 98.9% but the negatives are really negative.

I will never deal with them again. They charged my credit card the day I placed the order and I didn't receive the majority of my order for 3 months. It's now been 7 months and I am still waiting for one part. When I call to talk to Al he tells me it will ship that week. I've had that conversation at least 4 times. They also sent me a couple of parts that I did not order and charged my credit card. I have filled a dispute with my credit card company. Still waiting on a resolution to my dispute and still waiting on my part that most other vendors have in stock. BEWARE!

Default carb

PLEASE do yourself a favor and just send it to Bob Kunz. He will take care of it and run it on a test 327 he has. All I did on my 63 340 AFB was set the idle and it runs like a dream after he rebuilt it. If you choose to use any of the other sources mentioned, I wish you LOTS of luck. Kunz has done thousands of carbs for NCRS type cars and has tons of references. I am in Los Angeles and would NEVER use anyone else.

i bought two rebuilt headlight motors from them back several years. then sent my cores back. they worked but very sluggish. rejected my cores without explaination. i called customer service for an explanation, they did not know because they use an outside rebuilder that rejected the cores. in the end i got nowwhere fast. i was out three hundred bucks.
