1963 Muncie sticking in a forward gear.
Is the problem of a transmission sticking in a forward gear the result of poor linkage adjustment or worn synchronizers?
My 1963 4 speed Muncie got stuck several times until a mechanic properly adjusted the linkage. Not a reoccurance in the two years since then. Another owner a part time mechanic says it's not a linkage problem but worn synchros.
What do you say?
Thank you,

I always thought synchros just made sure the gears involved spun at the same speed to insure they didn't grind when shifting. I wouldn't think being stuck in gear would have anything to do with synchros.
I'd look at the linkage, it doesn't take long to check it out.
