Mostly stainless, and comes up beautifully with a little polishing..... Door posts are chromed though I think, mine came up well with the same polish. I use Autosol.

You can buff your stainless and make it look new. I got all of the info I needed from John Mcgraw. There are some very important steps, like practice on old pieces, step by step straightening, sanding, buffiing, equipment, grades of sanding, polishing materials, etc.
Hopefully John will chime in. His info was very helpfull for me.

All of the stamped trim pieces are stainless, which were originally polished, then flash-chromed to protect the stainless from oxidation. The die-cast parts (windshield and door posts) are pot-metal and were chromed.

Yes, you want them flash chromed after polishing. Flash chrome is about .0002" thick, with no copper or nickle underlayment. They don't look right, and take a yellowish tint if they are polished without chrome.
