So I bought it back in March of 2009, and it had NOM and tranny as well as a one piece front fiberglass front end; no frame damage though....and the interior was gutted. Yes compleat frame off restoration, all new replacement parts from CC, LIC, etc.... Motor is 400 sbc (406)...almost finished with that;1968 Munci close ratio 4spd and 3:36 gears. Body is almost done, lizard skin sprayed on interior, and Rock-it bed liner for the undercoating and the original Daytona paint will now be a lighter Laguna blue w/original dark blue interior color. Corvette original sidepipes for exhaust (understand not originally available on '63s). For the most part wanted everything to look "mostly" stock, but still have fun driving it around. Once complete will post pics to the forum as I have received a great deal of info here from many members. Sounds like yours is coming along well....do what you want to it, it's yours.....so have fun!
Many people supplying books, parts, and most of all advise. This car is one I have loved since high school. I actually purchased it from a high school classmate...and know the previous three owners..
It has been crunched a few times with some okay fixes...getting it media blasted this winter or fall to eliminate the body filler and get down to fiberglass I can repair.
I appreciate your response.
Have fun with your car.

When the previous owner bought it, it was Red w/Dark Blue interior. He had exterior repainted to original Silver Blue. It does have hard top and white soft top.

Hey Syd:
While home in Boston on vacation, I ran into a buddy who said he bought a '63 roadster in 1968 for $2300. Black out/red in. Sent me a copy of the bill of sale.
Said you could add the VIN to your database: 04066.

Hi Dave,
I have no idea how many remain or are registered but I have kinda kept track for over 15 yrs.
Including some 63's that were recorded prior to me and some cars recorded by others, and also including some that were wrecked or stolen etc. over the yrs, I've listed over 3,100 cars in my '63 file.
Of the approximate 3,100 '63 total, 1770 are split windows.
I'd guess that a good number survive, at the very least double that figure and most probably quite a bit higher.
I would love to hear from '63 owners who would contribute to this file.

I had no record of '63 #4,066.
Does your buddy still own the car? If not, what year was it last seen?

I think we must have communicated some time in the past because I have your Coupe #15,504 in my file exactly as you describe.
I'm only missing it's Body number so we must have exchanged info years back.
Thanks!

Hi Swept57,
I had Coupe #14,940 listed in my file but without any info other than knowing it is a Coupe. It was recorded by another '63 enthusiast years back and forwarded to me.
I'm glad I can now add it's colors to it's listing because I hate including cars without knowing the color!
Is this your '63? Do you know what the original hp was/is?
Any other options like leather etc.? Body number?
Thanks!
Syd

I'll note your friends old '63 with 'info only' and that it was last seen in '78 or there about. Does he remember what the original hp and transmission was?
Just got back from the Cape and overloaded on steamers and chowdah.
Beautiful as always.
Thanks again!
