Help with transportation
I need to transport my car to Mobile Al, from Burbank CA and back again. I'm trying to find a transport company under 1k and not having any luck, I've been told I should be able too. My other option is if anybody heading to Carslie by way of AL or going to AL that has space and could take my car with them, this would also be an option. Of course I would compensate for your trouble. :yesnod: I have to have my car in Mobile July 1st. :chevy

Re: Help with transportation (Kevs67)
The cheapest one-way I had was open-carrier from San Jose to Indianapolis and it was $830 :( I paid $1,300 to send my '58 enclosed from San Jose to Indy.
I wish you much luck!

Re: Help with transportation (brun_fid)
Thanks for the Info. It has been awhile since my friend shipped his car for $800. Who did you use for the $830 transport?

You might want to try a company called AutoTransExpress,..they will give you a exact quote,..try reaching them at sales@autotrans-express.com.,..Also there is a company at automovers.com,...I seem to recall a thread, same subject, somewhere here in the C2 or C3 forum maybe 4-6 weeks back that gave a web site that listed several dozen auto shippers from coast to coast,..u might check the archives and see if there is still a link. Hope this helps, Tom :chevy Save The Wave!!!

Sorry-- I didn't see your follow-up. I went with a company called ProStar. I'd have to dig up the receipts to get you the info. it looks like you found a better deal, though. Congrats!

Kevin (I think)...
EZ haulers is generally around $500-$700 dollars. There is a web site that will send out bids to up to 8 (or 10) carriers and let them send you bids.
http://www.moving.com/mscripts/resul...ervice=15&zip=
Or just try moving.com and go from there.
Hope this help.

Re: Help with transportation (67gilmore)
67Gilmore, great link.
Only problem I'm having is that the on-line quotes change , go up, when you call to follow up. :bs
But with your link I can now get lots of choices. Just got a $750 quote, with a " We'll beat anybody's price guarantee" :yesnod:
