You can thank Barret Jackson for this type of buy. Everyone thinks all old cars are worth a ton of money regardless.

At 37,500ish, its one of the worst buys ever. Unless it is a big brake car, a real fuelie with 2 FI units in the trunk or Sebring history, someone made a poor deal.

It gets even worse. I ran the math based on the OPs description:

Hammer Price: $37,500
10% Commission: $3,750
13% Sales Tax: $4,875

Total Price: $46,125

And maybe a winning lottery ticket for $25,000.

Then again, maybe Jon Voight once owned it!

Yeah, but the Canadian dollar is worth a bit more than ours right now so that's probably ONLY $44,500 or so.

I'd pay the $46k if there were also two more just like it included as part of the package. That car / project is something I'd really like to tackle. The price must be worth it to whoever bought it, but certainly not to me.

That thing had better been hiding in Zora's former residence in Gross Pointe Farms to bring that kind of money. This is a case where the next owner will get the resto and car for next to nothing.

Last year I passed on a '60 base engine 4-speed, two owner, no hit car that was just outstanding. Painted once in its life, 38,000+ original miles. I passed at $46K--the same amount someone paid for this thing.
Wow.

Wow.
2 years ago, on Craig's list, I found a 1 owner 58 with 245HP & a PG, numbers matching, red on red and the trunk spears were perfect. I would call it a "very nice driver". I passed at $32K, so my buddy picked it up.
The guy that bought the 58 in this post is going to have a very rude awakening when he starts to push the pencil. We may see this car up for sale again.

Looks like a new contagion is in the air. Recent thread on a pair of clapped out '63s that went through an auction at ridiculous prices.

Keep in mind these are Canadian dollars and one Canadian dollar is worth 1.0294 US Dollars at today's exchange rate, therefore:

C$46,125 = US$47,481

Plus this car would have to be transported since its not road worthy or licensed.
