Default we want services just dont want to pay ie I want roads with no potholes

Where does all the tax $ go ? To medicare , social security , pension obligations . the military etc etc etc .. absolutely right too much spending not enough income .the math apparently goes like federal spending per household 30K state and local spending average 25K [ average ] to provide this the feds borrowed 12K to make up the shortfall.. the cost is borne by 112 million households.. People have been getting 5 of services from Govt but only paying 4 in tax .. The other G8 may ahve their head stuck up their *** quote unquote but places like the UK have had to bite the bullet ,, Mothballed their aircraft carriers given involuntary termination to 10% of the military etc .. Anyone hear an idea to put 10% of US Navy fleet in storage ? Cut back federal pension plans ..Tell the 30 thousand people who work in Homeland Security that maybe we will have to the same amount of work with less people ??? Unlikely .. so buy silver and or gold.. the one way out is to cause inflation and pay the back the debt in 40 yrs time with money that purchases 1/10 of whatt it does today and stop govt spending more than it takes in [ that is the hard part] more potholes in the roads and decaying infrastructure.. as for the price of gas .. well compared to the rest of the world itś a lot cheaper here than there .. Try filling up your Ferrari in Italy

Just to so you guys can feel happy again, cheapest gallon of premium here in whole finland is $7.8. That 3.28/gallon doesn't sound that bad at all anymore. And that $7.8 is the cheapest you can get, prices go up to $8.6 per gallon at some stations. And just to remind you, our goverment can take up to 60% from our paycheck in taxes, and then we have this 25% vat. yeah, cheep to run a household with 5 cars and a rr-bike

Taxes is the answer......the wealthy and corporations need to start paying their fair share.....I would say the rates they were paying when the great Reagan was president would do the trick.......and the middle class should get a large tax cut...... for a change. By the way, in 2005 under Bush, we imported 60% of our oil........today we import 49% of our oil.......... http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_1...-millionaires/

Heck the poor need to start paying their fair share. They take money out of the system for decades and hardly ever put any in.

Anyone who cites CBS as a source for accurate news?

Needs to have their head surgicaly removed from their a$$!!

With all due respect to your political senses. The reason for lower import numbers is not Obummers energy policy(What policy).

It's due to the economic slowdown. We are using far less oil, therefore we import less. Don't expect that to last very long.

One word "KETSTONE".

I hope you have already bought your Government Motors VOLT?

I would bet you are not a business owner?

Down under in NZ we pay $ 2.12 a litre = $ 8.50 gallon and tradesman earns about 20 to 25 an hour 28 cents in dollar tax = one day pay to fill 14 gallon corvette tank .

Excellent idea.........what tax rate would you like to tax my 90 year old mother, who has Alzheimers, crippling arthritis, and a 1100 dollar a month S.S. check? 15, 20, 25%? Why don't we just make it 30%...... that way Romney can drop his rate from 14% to 10%.....seems fair to me.

Let's keep the idiotic practice of class warfare off the Forum please.

Anyone ever got a job from a poor person?

Can this discussion be moved to the POLITICAL SECTION??? As much as I love discussing politics, and believe me, I do. This is a forum for C1 and C2 Corvettes, which I enjoy much more.

I come here to escape all of that crap.

"65 Vett Dude" would rather the discussion stayed here in the C1 section. Over at PR&C he gets his a$$ handed to him on a daily basis with the crap he posts over there.
