I thought it was if you're not breaking anything you're not trying hard enough.

It doesn't just apply to 4WD.

We have it mounted, but we still have to finish wiring, installing glass and setting up the wiper arms. I am hoping I will be able to give you an update on the wipers in a couple weeks.

Stopped by the shop yesterday and some progress has been made. The fuel lines are complete, the remote battery is complete, most of the wiring is complete, mocked up the dash (see pic below), final clear going on the doors/hoods, stencils for some custom airbrush touches were reviewed and should be laid down this weekend, power steering, vintage air, remote wiper are pretty much complete. Next week the plan is to install the exhaust and complete the wiring. I forgot how much I liked the 63 gauges... enjoy!

This is looking really nice. I am excited for you, as my project is behind yours a bit.

I'll be watching, keep up the good work.

The gauges were originally done by Jason at vetteinstruments@aol.com. They turned out beautiful! Then once I changed directions to the LS3, we sent them to Redline for a retrofit.

Kinda looks like a cheap toggle switch in the pic, but they are actually the controllers for the vintage air, no ***** on them yet.

We are planning to send the car to the upholstery shop this weekend, which means we are getting closer. I'll try to post some pics up later this week.

Stopped by the shop yesterday and the car is coming along pretty good. They are getting it ready to send it to upholstery tonight.

We have the windshield and most of the trim installed. The guys are installing the doors.

Rocker molding and door installed. The rockers turned out sweet!

Here's a closer view of the rocker panel.

Wing windows installed this morning.

Default Update and more pics!

Happy Thanksgiving!
It's been a while since I posted. The project continues to make progress, albeit somewhat slow progress. There has been a lot going on, some big (windows, upholstery, steering, etc) some of it minor (security, sound system, wiring, relocating ebrake, etc). The eBrake is the latest setback, as the hole used for the ebrake under the dash is being used/covered by other stuff (FBW gas pedal). So we are now custom fabbing a hand brake in the center console, like a 67. I was able to finally sit in the car yesterday and get a feel for the seat position, steering wheel and pedals... and yes I made a little rumbling sound and turned the wheel like a 5 year old. Still a lot left to do on the car, so I don't think I will be driving it before the new year. Enjoy the pics!

New glass and top (yes the vent holes will be painted black)

Nearly complete engine bay (the freshly painted LS3 covers are being cut up and custom shaped)

Side view with the new top

Rear bumpers on

Front bumpers and grill on (still needs minor adjusting)

Mocking up the sound system

The kick panel speakers turned out great and based on my test drive, the driver side does not get in the way of the clutch or high beam switch

The to do list is getting shorter, but will still take a lot of time. We still have to complete the brakes, clean up/smooth some of the bolts on the steering linkage, finish the sound system (fiberglass, upholstery, wiring), complete the rest of the interior (defrost vent, cover the remaining panels, build a door to cover the relocated battery/stereo, complete the handbrake and custom center console, glove box, etc), exhaust, alignment, fill with fluids, final cut and polish and then bring her home.

What is the status of the windshield wipers! Looks like they needed to make some brackets. Can you share details and photos?

Thanks

sure is purdy. wish i could of afforded a modern frame for wider wheels. anyway be careful
of that engine, slowly get use to that much power. my ls3 with cam is listed at 480 and
that is more than i need, with the tires i have and old rear end. you will love the way the torque is on these engines. jim
