Lot 1010.2
This year, last week.
VIN: 194677S112839
Exterior Color: MAROON
Interior Color: BLACK
Cylinders: V8
Engine Size: 427
Transmission: 4-SPEED MANUAL
Summary: Survivor Corvette, 1967 427/435hp, 100% original, un-restored survivor with less than 17,800 original documented miles. Bloomington Gold awards, two NCRS Regional Top Flights in 1991 and two in 1999 and is a Triple Crown award winner.
Details: With less than 17,800 original documented miles from new, this 1967 Corvette 427/435hp L71 convertible is comprehensively matching numbers and wears 100% of its original, factory applied Marlboro Maroon lacquer finish over a black interior and matching convertible top. A true survivor in every sense of the term, the car rolls on its original factory Uniroyal non-DOT-marked rubber, exhales through its original factory exhaust and retains its original belts, hoses and even its original spark plug wires after 43 years. It goes without saying that precious few legitimately un-restored, original paint, top-of-the-heap L71 powered Corvettes exist. In fact, the number of Corvettes in the same Benchmark class of cars is presently limited to a handful of examples the world over. Apart from its rare and desirable Tri-Power, solid-lifter big block V8 engine, the car sports the desirable Muncie M21 close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission, the optional 3.55:1 ratio rear axle with posi-traction limited slip differential, transistorized ignition, "F41" Gymkhana heavy duty suspension, a refinished auxiliary hardtop, the under-car off road exhausts, the rare AM/FM radio and the unusual and original 7.75x15" white stripe tires. The car has run the gamut of certifications and awards presentations. Awards and accreditation include Bloomington Gold Hall of Fame Inductee, Bloomington Gold Certified, Bloomington Gold Hall of Fame, Bloomington Gold Benchmark Certified, Bloomington Gold Survivor Certified, featured twice in Bloomington Gold's Special Collection, two NCRS Regional Top Flight awards in 1991 and two in 1999, NCRS Regional Performance Verification in 1992 and a Triple Crown Award winner. The awards and certifications tell the story, while many cars talk the talk, very few legitimate un-restored, original paint, 1967 435hp cars exist. When you fine tune that search down to Benchmark level un-restored cars, you are talking about less than a handful of cars total in existence. This is a car for the serious collector, who appreciates the best survivor cars like this one, that has been judged and proven time and time again to be the real deal. From the Double L Ranch Collection.

I doubt our cars are worth "more than we think". This is a one-of-a-kind car that rarely comes to light (as evidenced by the provenance and price!).
However, I will personally deliver my 1961 to anywhere in the US to the first buyer to pay 1/4 million for it.

I think its a GREAT Corvette. If you were looking for an investment grade original Corvette, it would be a wonderful car to built your collection around. I think it has no place to go but up in value.

Granted, 17,800 miles are very low for a car that is 44 years old, but that is enough miles to drive across the whole country a few times. It is beyond me how original hoses belts, wires, etc., have lasted that long, with the number of years involved and the number of miles.

I remember this car going across the block. The hand held camera was focused enough that I recall seeing the patina of the original paint along with the details of the engine. I also noticed a number of cars from the Double L Ranch consigner crossing the block. Dennis

The seller's probably all kicked back somewhere in the Caribbean soaking up the rays. Nice sell!
