Nice car, but I want to hear how the first few BB cars came with SB hoods. Maybe this guy knows something about it. Dennis

This guy is sooooooooo full of BS
"TOWARDS THE END OF THE MIDYEAR PRODUCTION RUN, GM WAS STARTING TO GET OUT OF THE PRODUCTION OF 67 VETS AND TOOLING UP FOR THE NEW '68 MODEL. FOR ONLY ONE WEEK, GM WAS RUNNING OUT OF SMALL BLOCK HOODS AND ENDED UP PUTTING "BIG BLOCK" HOODS ON SMALL BLOCK CARS. THIS CAR WAS ONE TO GET THE "BIG BLOCK" HOOD!"

I'm not saying it's true, but that story has been around as long as I've been playing with Corvettes, 35+ years. Nolan Adams Restoration Guide Vol. 2, even makes mention of the week of production of 67 SB cars with Big Block hoods.

There's been a Lyndale Blue 67 Small Block coupe here in Jersey for many years, that the owner claims is one of those one week of production, Big Block hood cars too!

We had a member in our Corvette club with a 67 SB with BB hood and claims that he got it new that way.

It would be amusing to check the VIN number and find the car was made nowhere near the "end of production"

(On the other hand, what happens if this bozo mentioned in the OP, the one bgvette62 mentions, and toddalin's former club member all turned out to be within a few VIN's of each other? )

Seems to me I've also heard that some SB cars got BB hood legit, but not necessarily due to the reason the seller is promoting.

I just have to be part of this historic thread, where it is discovered that the LAST week of production, all Corvettes got big block hoods.

It is so exciting!

They are all CLAIMS, and that is all, CLAIMS. Funny part of this one is, that he is CLAIMING late production, and as I read that serial number, it is a 11,XXX car, which is mid production. Interestingly enough it is closer to the serial number of the most CLAIMED example. and the totally unsubstantiated story in Noland's book.

If we can change history around to fit, then here is my addition to urban folklore -- Toward the end of 66 production, GM ran out of the 65/66 big block hood, and started using the 67 design BB hood. Proof? Look at my 66 to the left, a 66 with a 67 hood.
