Default Silver pearl or....

I'm going to repaint my '65 Coupe, that was originally Silver Pearl. Has anyone repainted their car in a silver they feel looks better? Maybe brighter? I'm going to use basecote/clearcote.
Thanks

Not silver but PPG Ferrari 704C Grigio Titanio Metallic, 37032. I've parked by the Sebring Silver ones at car shows and they pale by comparison.

While nice, it's way too dark. The original silver looks way better. Not my car but here's what it SHOULD look like.

Your car's paint looks more like my Cobra except with less "POP". VW Platinum Gray Metallic

Default Silver Pearl

I had agonized over some other silvers at the time, but decided to go with the original color. It's your car, and it's your chioce, do what makes YOU happy. Pilot Dan

My 65 is originally silver pear but is currently red, I've wanted a Nassau blue 65 for about 15 years but seeing pics of nice SP's are wearing on me bigtime.

Your an evil man

There's a completed listing recently on Ebay of a car that's probably really close to what mines supposed to look like. For some reason (to me at least) the paint on it has more pop to it than others I've seen.

Joe, I have 2 roadsters in my shop right now that are being assembled. One '65 and one '67, both are original Silver Pearl cars that we refinished in PPG base/clear. We ordered the color by the GM code, but the modern crossover color was too dark and had too coarse of metallic. Fortunately, the '67 retained an area of nice original color and working with our local PPG jobber,we were able to match it well. We are about an hour and fifteen minutes north of you and you are welcome to come look at the finished products. If you like the color, I would gladly pass on the mix formula. Feel free to call Mike at The Early Vette Shop in Shohola Pa.(570)685-4060. Thanks Mike

I convinced the shop owner to give me the paint code from a 62 Vette that was at the Kissimmee Florida show 2 years ago. I'm very pleased with the outcome. It does not have any pearl in it.

Please don't ban me from the site for saying this but I was at a friends house who is helping me with some parts for my 67...he has a 69 camaro painted hyundai silver....yes the same silver Hyundai cars are painted... with the black racing stripes....unreal how nice it looked...had alot of metal flake in it and really gives it "pop"...just throwing it out there....I will have to make the same decision soon...good luck

I'm being tempted by pm's about Mercedes' Iridium Silver. What brand would you suggest? I used Spies Hecker on two of my cars that stayed outside...they looked great and it endured. The Vette will be in the garage, but I was very impressed with every aspect of SH.
Any suggestions?
