Default Is Mid America Grand Sport in business?

I have been kicking around buying or building a 63 Grand Sport.

I spoke with Jeff Leach probably 60 days ago.

Now, the Mid America website is gone.

Is he still in business?

Thanks,

Dandy Don

Don:

I spoke with him last week. Everything seemed normal on his side from what I could tell.

I once wrote a topic here about Jeff and what I think about his way of doing business... I wouldn't be surprised to see it go belly up...

This is excellent advice.

That said, I don't think Jeff is actually dis-honest. I do think he has awful time and money management skills.... maybe the worst of anyone I know. When I dealt with him, he seemed to always be chasing the next paycheck.

Get yours before he gets his.

Sounds like someone else we both know - substitute "Dean" for "Jeff"

One difference.... To the best of my knowledge Jeff has not been incarcerated.

He's not dis honest. Just real bad with money and business.

Dean was just a thief. Simple as that.

FWIW: I had ordered the parts needed for the GSII from MAI less the Chassis, and I received my parts week before last. Everything seems to be in good order. I had the guy come by who is going to do the body work and paint and he thought the part were well made.

This was my first business transaction with Jeff, so I do know for sure he is still in business.

I'm not quite sure the nature of the problem you experienced, but so far mine have been ok.

Perhaps if you contacted him again, something could be done to get you what you ordered or wanted or ???

I'm really looking forward to getting this done.

I hope you have some luck with him, because at least when I spoke with him, he seemed pretty nice.

Please keep me posted on your efforts and I will do the same. I would hate for a supplier of the GS cars go away since Duntov and GM are playing hardball.

What are your thoughts?

Not sure what kind of project you are looking for.

There was an unmolested, unstarted D&D kit with chassis and suspension for sale in the cars for sale section and I believe the price has been marked down. I communicated with the owner for a while. He seemed like a nice guy.

Good luck.
