Default Question about this car on eBay

Hoping someone can answer a couple of questions about this car:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...mZ390252496741

In the ad, it says:

==============================
Alternator: # 1100750 61 AMP Date 5M21 = Dec. 21, 1955

Questionable, Number Correct for 327 CI with A/C and TI ignition

No T.I ignition on this car and date looks too early. Ref Book shows uncertain usage

Exhaust Manifolds: 3846559LH/374702RH. Not Correct. Were replaced due to early headers

================================

I'm guessing the 1955 date for the alternator is probably a typo, right?

What's the deal with the "not correct" manifolds? Anyone know what the issue was with the early headers?

Thanks,
-- Steve

Probably, but even if 1965 it's too early for typical production for this car, assuming the engine date of summer 66 is correct.

Probably just that years ago when the car was new an early own replaced the exhaust manifolds with headers, and now whatever manifolds that are on there are probably not the correct ones. Passenger manifold should have a choke tube coming from the top, but instead I see a plug. Makes me suspicious of the carb.

But the black book shows "1382 convertibles" had A/C....

I don't know where they are getting there numbers from Maybe the black book is wrong Yaaaa thats the ticket.
Noland Adams lists 304 1966 A/C Coupes with the 300 horse engine and manual tranny, and 300 Convertibles with the same options. This car appears to be a 300 horse convertible, so perhaps they looked in the wrong spot at the detailed A/C breakdown data.

There is something very strange with that dealer. I was just looking at a 69 coupe and they have two.......... strange thing is that one is a so called L-89 and the other is a 427- 390. If you look at the pictures they seem identical to me except for the engine shots. Same hood on both cars too! Something wierd there.........

Who cares-Get a life-its still a beautiful car-if you don t want to buy it then find another one where every single nut and bolt is original.

With only 22 hours left for bidding and zero bids (figuring it was a 6 day or more listing) no one seems to think it is priced correctly.

the alt is for a Dec 21 1965. and that is the correct alt for a AC car and NO TI. for that price I want the engine detailed with all the correct hoses etc. with no pictures of the Vin or trim tag that is a red flag. red on red is a sought after color combo and one would question if the trim tag is real. also would like to see some judging sheets too

Sorry . . . didn't mean to ruin your day.

I'm not looking to buy it. I saw the listing, didn't understand what it meant, and thought someone here might enlighten me. They did and I appreciate the help.

Take care,
