Default 1963 Hood grille/louver

Has anybody used the reproduction hood grille/louver for the 63? I had one that got damaged, and not sure to buy a used or a new repo. Thanks, Dale

I have a pair somewhere that I pulled off my 63 in the '70s if I can find them.
Depending on what's said here on repo vs used, I can look for them if you want.

I'm assuming you're talking about the 2 hood inserts.

I'm told the repops come flat and need to be contoured to fit the hood curvature. This can be tricky but not impossible. I would not replace just one with a repop as there will be differences you will notice when side by side on the same hood.

Please find photograph of how the hood has been modified with the cookie sheet being removable when taking the C2 on the track. Duntov had wanted all the vents to be open--- but GM did it only reluctantly to save cash.
All my suspension has been updated--- and the vehicle tracks well.
Will try to see what Harbor Vette Restoration has done.
