Great to see Ham Radio is still alive. Many many years ago (if you are an older ham you will know what I am talking about), I use to run a ham station on the USCGC Chase and USCGC Boutwell to set up phone patches for our guys while we out at see on Ocean Station Bravo, Charlie, Delta, and Echo in the North Atlantic. Although the CG Cutter ships call sign was NLPM, I did have a call sign, but forgot it.

Before satcom, the internet, and even Marine Operators the HF Hams played a very important role with keeping up moral in the Coast Guard.
